These Terms of Use form an agreement between the user and JJE APPS, the provider of Lumina. By installing, accessing, or using Lumina, the user confirms that they have read and accepted these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If they do not agree, they must not use the app.

1. About Lumina

Lumina is a personal reflection and organization app providing features such as daily content, favorites, tasks, reminders, a journal, mood tracking, preferences, and progress elements. Features may vary by version, device, language, region, permissions, and content-service availability.

2. Nature of the service and health disclaimer

Lumina is a general wellbeing and organization tool. It is not a medical, psychological, psychiatric, therapeutic, diagnostic, or emergency service. Its content is not professional advice and must not replace evaluation, treatment, or guidance from a qualified professional.

The app does not monitor risk, contact emergency services, or guarantee delivery of time-critical reminders. In an emergency, risk of injury, thoughts of self-harm, or danger to others, immediately contact local emergency services or a qualified professional.

3. Eligibility

Users must have legal capacity to accept these Terms. Minors may use Lumina only with guardian authorization and supervision where required by law. The app is not specifically directed to children.

4. License

While these Terms are followed, we grant a personal, limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and non-sublicensable license to install and use Lumina on compatible Android devices for personal and lawful purposes.

This license does not transfer intellectual property. Except where law permits otherwise, users may not:

  • copy, sell, rent, sublicense, or redistribute the app;
  • modify, circumvent, decompile, or reverse engineer it;
  • remove ownership, trademark, or rights notices;
  • exploit vulnerabilities or interfere with the app, API, or infrastructure;
  • automate requests abusively, extract the catalog in bulk, or overload the service;
  • use Lumina for illegal, fraudulent, abusive activity or infringement of third-party rights;
  • distribute modified versions or misrepresent responsibility for Lumina.

Open-source components remain governed by their applicable licenses, which control for those components.

5. No account

Lumina requires no registration or login. There is no Lumina account that synchronizes personal content across devices. Users are responsible for securing their device, screen lock, and physical access to the app.

6. User-created content

Users retain rights in text and information they create in Lumina. We claim no ownership of tasks, reminders, or journal entries. This content is processed locally to provide app features and is not sent to any online content service.

Users are responsible for what they record, copy, or share and must have any required rights and permissions. They must not record illegal content, violate privacy or third-party rights, or use the app for harassment, threats, or fraud.

Although journal text is encrypted, no protection is absolute. Users should not store credentials, high-risk secrets, another person's data without authorization, or information whose loss could cause serious harm.

7. Local storage, backup, and data loss

Tasks, reminders, favorites, progress, and journal entries remain in the local database and are excluded from Android backup and device transfer. The journal key is also not transferred. Selected preferences may be backed up by Android.

Uninstalling, clearing data, losing, damaging, resetting, or replacing the device may permanently erase local content. Lumina provides no remote recovery and does not guarantee portability. Users are responsible for keeping secure external copies of important information through appropriate means.

We may change local structures during updates and will use reasonable care with migrations, but cannot guarantee recovery in every case of failure, corruption, unofficial versions, or system modification.

8. Notifications, alarms, and availability

Notifications depend on Android permission, system settings, battery management, manufacturer behavior, time zone, clock, restarts, and other factors. If exact alarms are unavailable, approximate scheduling may be used. Do not rely on Lumina notifications for medication, emergencies, safety, legal obligations, or any event where delay or failure could cause harm.

Global reflections and images depend on internet access and providers. Local fallback content may preserve core operation, but we do not guarantee continuous availability, specific content, or uninterrupted service.

9. Lumina content and intellectual property

The app, visual identity, interfaces, editorial text, selections, graphics, icons, code, and other Lumina materials belong to JJE APPS or its licensors and are protected by applicable law.

Quotation authors and sources retain their rights where identified. A technical sharing feature does not grant a license for commercial exploitation, removal of attribution, or use beyond lawful limits.

10. Sharing and third-party services

When using “Share” or “Copy,” the user chooses the content and destination. Messaging apps, social networks, storage services, Google Play, Android, and other third parties have their own terms and policies. We do not control their practices, availability, or security and are not responsible for actions the user takes through those services.

The global catalog and images may be delivered through secure content infrastructure. Use of the app is also subject to applicable Google Play rules. Third-party links are provided for convenience and do not constitute endorsement.

11. Privacy

The Privacy Policy describes local data, technical connections, permissions, backup, providers, retention, and user rights. By using Lumina, users acknowledge that technical operation will occur as described there and according to choices made in Android.

12. Conduct and security

Users may not seek unauthorized access, perform security testing without written authorization, transmit malicious code, forge requests, evade limits, interfere with others, or use automated unauthorized extraction of app content to train or build a competing product.

Security vulnerabilities should be reported responsibly to lumina@jjeapps.com without accessing, changing, retaining, or disclosing more data than strictly necessary to demonstrate the issue.

13. Updates and service changes

We may fix, update, add, limit, replace, or remove features and content to improve security, compatibility, quality, or sustainability. Updates may be required for continued use. We do not guarantee permanent compatibility with every device, Android version, or configuration.

Where a material change affects user rights, we will provide reasonable notice in the app, store listing, or official website as required.

14. Suspension and termination

Users may stop using Lumina at any time by uninstalling it. We may discontinue the service or restrict infrastructure access where necessary for security, law, abuse prevention, discontinuation, or technical infeasibility.

Termination does not transfer or recover local data. Provisions that by nature should survive—including intellectual property, disclaimers, liability, and dispute terms—will remain in effect.

15. Feedback

If users submit suggestions without a confidentiality obligation, they allow us to use those suggestions to improve Lumina without compensation, while personal data remains governed by the Privacy Policy. Users must not submit third-party materials as their own.

16. Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lumina is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not warrant uninterrupted operation, total absence of errors, fitness for a particular purpose, preservation of all local data, exact notification delivery, or any particular personal result from the content.

Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties, consumer rights, or liabilities that cannot lawfully be limited.

17. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted, JJE APPS will not be liable for indirect damages, lost profits, lost opportunity, data loss, or consequences of relying on notifications, wellbeing content, third-party services, a compromised device, or use contrary to these Terms.

Any exclusion or limitation applies only to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law and does not restrict mandatory consumer rights.

18. Indemnity

Where permitted by law, users agree to be responsible for claims resulting from illegal use, breach of these Terms, or infringement of third-party rights. This provision does not reduce mandatory consumer rights or apply to harm caused by the developer's own conduct.

19. Law, consumers, and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federative Republic of Brazil. The courts of São Paulo, State of São Paulo, are chosen, without displacing the consumer's home forum or any other forum or dispute-resolution method guaranteed by applicable law.

Before formal action, the parties should try to resolve the issue through lumina@jjeapps.com. Nothing prevents a complaint to a consumer authority, data-protection authority, or competent court.

20. General terms

If a provision is invalid, the remaining provisions continue, and the invalid term will be adjusted to the lawful minimum. Failure to enforce a right is not a waiver. Users may not assign these Terms without consent; the provider may assign them in a reorganization, acquisition, or succession while preserving legal rights. These Terms and the Privacy Policy form the agreement governing Lumina use.

21. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms for legal, technical, or business changes. The published version will show its date. Material changes will be communicated before taking effect where required. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance to the extent allowed; otherwise, the user must stop using Lumina.
